PRAISE FOR MR. PARRY.
(By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter. WELLINGTON, Thursday. A tribute to Mr. Parry (Auckland Central) none the less meant despite the fact that it was made when a Minister I was speaking in semi-facetious strain, was heard in the House of Representatives during discussion on the totali- ! sator permits. The Hon. R. F. Bollard, referring to the safety of race courses, said "The stewards of-different clubs have wakened up to their responsibilities, a good deal through the activities of the hon. member for Auckland Central, who keeps them up to the mark. (Laughter.) They are frightened that he will come around, look at their courses, and condemn them.
