SUGGESTED SPORTS PARK.
In accordance with a notice of motion, Mr. J Donald moved at last night's meeting of the City Council, "That immediate action be taken for the filling of the reclamation set apart as a sports park situated at Cos's Creek, Grey Lynn." Mr. Donald said the matter had been brought up at a recent meeting of the Rugby Union, where the proposal was discussed and afterwards referred to him. The area comprises 2S acres for a sports ground and park, and was within 15 minutes of Queen Street, and had> leading to it the three tram termini—Grey Lynn. Heme Bay and the Zoo. He hoped that the members of the council would visit the spot, when Mr. Donald thought that they would be of the one opinion. The Mayor: Where are we to get the money from ?
