KARANGAHAPE BUSINESS LEAGUE.
FORTNIGHTLY LUNCH MEETING. The fortnightly lunch meeting of the Karangahape Road Business Men"-: League was held in Nairn's tea rooms today, the president (Mr. M. J. Bennett) occupying the chair. A presentation of a pet of pipes was made to Mr. G. A. Kissling. who recently retired from the staff of the Bank of New Zealand after 4o years' service, the last five of whifb had been as manager of the Newton branch. Tn acknowledging the gift. Mr. Kisslinsr referred to the extraordinary progress which had been made in the western part of the city during the last few years. Mr. N. Massey sang "Till I Awake." The speaker of the day was Mr. \V. H. Cocker, 8.A., LL.B., whose address on "'Monopoly and the Law" is reported in another column. At its conclusion a hearty vote of thanks was carried by acclamation.
