THAMES COUNTY QUARRY.
NOW PRODUCING METAL, (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") THAMES, Monday. After many unforeseen delays extending over a lengthy period the Thames County quarry at Matotoki has at last commenced producing crushed metal. During the last week about 200 yards of Matatoki metal has been used to repair the main Thames- Paeroa Road on the Kopu-Whareboe section. Tlie contractor, Mr. J. Maloney, of Waihi, will make a start this week on the first contract of 4000 yards. Experts who have inspected the quarry speak very highly of the metal and consider it should be most economically worked. With the quarry in working order the county roading scheme will now be pushed ahead.
