A letter from the Rev. 0. Miehelsen to the Foreign Missions Committee of the Presbyterian Church reported, that, dur'ng his absence from Tongoa, Hebrides, one of the nutivefß had laid claim to prophetical powers, and had predicted the imminent destruction of the island, such a calamity to be averted only by "repentance in hard cash.." Ip this way the "prophet" had. secured a substantial sum from the. credulous Islanders,
