MOTOR CYCLE RACES.
THE TOURIST TROPHY. SOME NEW RECORDS. (Received 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, June 18. The Isle of Man senior tourist motor trophy was won by Stanley Woods in 3k 54m 39 4-ss, an average of 67.54 miles an hour—a new full course record for 264 miles. Next came Handley, with 3h 59m 0 2-os, Longman with 4h 0m 0 l-ss, and Craig with 4h 44m 7s. Simpson put up a second lap record with thirty-two minutes nine seconds, an average speed of 70.43. Moller, a New Zealander, retired in the fifth lap, owing to engine trouble. Altogether thirty retired from fifty-seven starters. There were many crashes, but nothing more than one slight concussion was reported.— (A. and N.Z.)
