KAWAU AS PLEASURE RESORT.

VICTORIAN SYNDICATE BUYS. A Victorian syndicate has purchased from Mr. Lawford Reeves the Mansion House and grounds at Kawau Island, and other land in addition, making a total of come 3000 acres, and intends developiug the place into a pleasure resort, having an eye especially to the Australian tourist. It is understood that the syndicate will enlarge the accommodation and in other ways make the place thoroughly up to date. Arrangements have been made with Mr. Reeves so that in the meantime he will continue as manager.
