OUR IMMIGRATION POLICY. NOT A WISE ONE. (By Telegraph.-Press Association.) HASTINGS, this day. At a meeting of the Hawke's Bay executive of the Fanners' Union this morning, a motion was carried that the Immigration Department be written to, stating that the meeting considered it not wise to bring immigrants to the country during the winter months, when New Zealand had an unemployment question of its own.
