CRISIS IN FRANCE.
THE NEW PREMIER. BRIAND TO FORM CABINET. HIS TENTH MINISTRY. (By Cable.—Press Association. — Copyright.) (Received 2 p.m.) PARIS, June 10. M. Briand lias agreed to form another Cabinet. M. Briand's ninth Government was beaten by the franc, which fell to 180 to the pound on the news of the resignation of the Cabinet, but recovered to 177 i. ' The President, M. Doumergue, immediately called on the Premier to form a new Government. It is assumed in some quarters that M. Briand persuaded his colleagues to resign in a body in order to have a free hand to select his new Ministers. M-\l. Poincare, Herfiot, Caillaux and Tardieu are mentioned as possible members of the new Cabinet. In a statement- to journalists M. Briand said some people demanded a Ministry of the National Union and others men of energy and decision. The former had been tried in Belgium where, nevertheless, there had been a heavy fall in the franc. Italy possessed a man of energy as leader, yet the lira had not been maintained any better than the franc—(A. and N.Z.")
