VERDICT FOR DEFENDANTS.
SALE OF A FARM. WAIKATO LAND DEAL. (By. Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. A verdict for defendants was given yesterday in the case in which William and Jane Paterson claimed £3633 damages from William, George, and Christopherlrvine in respect of a dispute concerning the area in grass-of a farm at Te Poi, bought ten years ago by plaintiffs from defendants. After the conclusion of evidence, Mr. Justice Herdman put the following three questions to the jury: (1) Had there been misrepresentation (2) If co, had it been made dishonestly? (3) Had Patter-son-become aware of any misrepresentations coon after the deal? After a four hours' retirement the jury, by a three-fourths majority, found in favour of defendants. Judgment wag entered accordingly, costs, disbursements and witness' expenses to be settled ,by the registrar
