OBITUARY.
COLONEL B. H. BLENNERHASSETT. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) ROTORUA, this day. The death occurred in the King George V. Hospital on Thursday night of Colonel B. M. Blennerhassett, aged 70. Deceased, who had seen a great deal of active service, had, since his recrement from the Army, been an annual visitor to the Dominion, and was a keen fisherman. MR. ALEXANDER R. SMITH. Old residents of Auckland will still have memories of the days when Mr. Alexander R. Smith was an amateur popular entertainer, his services being freely given for charitable functions. His old friend 6 will regret to learn of the death of Mr. Smith this week at the age of 77 years. Mr. Smith's parents arrived in Auckland by the ship Duchess of Argyle. He was born in this city, and was in the bookbinding business for 58* years, only retiring in 1918. Mr. Smith was a fine elocutionist many years ago, and was associated with the late Mr. John Fuller, as an amateur, at popular entertainments in the old- City Hall. Deceased is survived by his wife. I three sons and three daughters. I
