BIBLICAL PROPHECY.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —Your correspondent, A.E.C, in his criticism of Mr. Rimmer's valuable article on tlie above, makes a fearful libel on the wisdom of divine revelation when he states, that, "Some question why an Almighty Being, Creator of the universe, should stoop to conceal His ultimate purposes in such an obscure manner as to have deluded thousands of devout men." Kindly permit mc to ask A.E.C. could infinite wisdom have chosen a wiser method of revelation, than the prophetic method? And do not the prophecies contained in the Old Testament Scriptures, which have been so wonderfully and accurately fulfilled in the unfolding chapters of human history, stand as the most positive and infallible proof that the men who wrote the Bible were divinely inspired? The prophetic method, places the Bible beyond successful contradiction. Fulfilling prophecy, as the years roll by, makes the Bible not only a book of yesterday and to-day, but a- book of tomorrow also. And instead of "deluding thousands of devout men throughout the ages." on the contrary, it was to them as well as it is to us the only infallible guide. And the devout student of prophecy, who sees its cogs fitting co perfectly into tlie on-moving wheels of history, is enabled to shape his life and plans accordingly. In other words, he sees clearly the near "Budding of the Fig Trees." Space will not permit to give A.E.C. a lengthy list of Scriptural quotations, but he will discover that all the predictions of Moses, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Jeremiah, Ilosea, Micah and Amos have been literally fulfilled to the smallest detail, and have become plainly written in history. But A.E.C. like most opponents to the clear teaching of Prophecy and the Second Coming, takes refuge by— "refusing to place credence in obscure passages (?) found in doubtful translations," uniil we are robbed altogether of the "more sure Word of Prophecy," by these modern destructive critics. —I am, etc., TREMAYNE THOMAS.
