PUBLIC WORKS EMPLOYEES.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —An "Indignant Mother writes, deploring the fact that men employed by the P.W.D. are encouraged to loiter over their work, if no other job is in view. As only a certain amount of money is alloted for a job, it is difficult to believe that the boss will make the work hang out several weeks longer than it should! It is evidently a subject of which she has no knowledge. In the case of Public Work men working on Sunday, it is no doubt a case of urgency after the recent floods.—l am, etc., PUBLIC WORKS EMPLOYEE.
