ANOTHER AMERICAN SHIP. WRIT ON MARGARET F. STERLING. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") NEW PLYMOUTH, this day. At the instance of the crew of the American schooner. Margaret F. Sterling, the vessel has been placed under "arrest"' on account of the non-payment of wages. There are eleven members of the crew, and the amount claimed is £329. A writ was taken out over the ship, cargo and freight, and unless payment is made within the prescribed time the crew will take steps to execute the warrant and have her sold under Admiralty rules. The ship is now in the custody of the marshal. Mr. H. Gilmore Smith, and cannot be moved without his authority, which is not likely to be given till all claims are satisfied. Mr. L. M. Moss acted on behalf of the crew. The last occasion on which a vessel was "arrested" here was in July. 1920. •when the C. S. Holmes was "arrested" pending a claim in respect of a damaged cargo of benzine. About a year before that the Otillie Ljord was similarly treated. In both cases the claims were satisfactorily settled and the vessel released.
