It is understood that arrangements have actually been made to commence with the necessary reading and draining, so that tbe land can be opened for selection at the earliest opportunity. This is tbe largest deal in land in the district for many years, and experienced farmers state that the Government is to be commended for tbe splendid deal which they have made, and on the excellent quality oi the land :relected. Another block of land in the same locality is reported to be tinder offer to the Government.
