MR. JOHN D. SFRECKELS. SAX DIEGO, June S. The death occurred to-day of Mr. John D. SnreckeK the American shipowner. (A. and X.Z.) Mr. John Dicdrich Spreekels founded the firm of J. D. Spreckels and Brother" Company, shipping and commission merchants. The firm owns a large fleet of tugs and vessels which trade with Hawaii. He was the president of the Oceanic Steamship Company. Mr. Spreckels was also proprietor of the newspaper the San Francisco "Horning CaJL"
