AN INJUNCTION GRANTED. (By Telegraph.—Pres» Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday. An injunction was issued to-day by Mr. Justice Adams prohibiting Martin C. Harvey, of Dunedin, advertising agent, and David M. Lister, of Dunedin, printer, from publishing "The Official South Island Motorists' Guide" on the ground that it infringes the copyright of "The New Zealand Motorists' Road Guide (South Island)." The action, in the form of an application for an injunction, was brought by Andrews, Baty and Company, of Christchurch, printers, against the president and executive of the South Island Motor Union and Harvey and Lister.
Counsel for the plaintiff said that a settlement between the parties had been reached, by which all the defendants, except Harvey and Lister, should be struck out and an injunction should be granted against those two only. Andrews and Baty did not claim for accounts or for damages. All costs between the parties had been settled and actually paid.
Counsel said that the settlement involved a frank admission that the South Island Motor Union had not authorised the publication of "The Official South Island Motorists' Guide."
