ROTORUA HOTELS.
TWO ADVERSE REPORTS

ROTORUA, Tuesday.
The Rotorua Licensing Committee met to-day. New licensee were issued to E. E. Harrey, for the Grand Hotel, Rotorua; P. Kinnimont, Palace Hotel, Rotonia; Mrs. E. Churton, Geyser House Hotel, Wairakei. A wholesale license was reissued to P. R. MeGill, Rotorua.
Adverse police reports were received on the Commercial Hotel at Whakatane (T. W. Hendryi and Hot Springs Hotel. Okoroire (J. Chalmers). Mr. McYeagh appeared for Hendxy. The committee granted the license subject to the licensee transferrins his license before the end of July. Mr. D. R. C. Mowbray. Auckland, who represented Chalmers, asked for renewal, stating the licensee was a manager and not interested in breaking the law. Mr. E. H. Northcroft (for the owners), urged that the licensee was not the manager but lessee. He asked for tha same arrangement as in the case of the Commercial Hotel at Whakatane. to which Mr. Mowbrair demurred. The committee refused the license, adjourning the meeting to July 5, to enable the owners to make other arrangements.
