A TRAVELLER'S ADVENTURE.
" BAIL UP ! " IN VICTORIA. BAD MAN, BAB SHOT. (Received 12.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, this day. While motoring along the road near the township of Collector, about 22 miles from Goulbura, a commercial traveller ! was called on to pull up by a man on the road. ! He did so, and as he could get no sense out of him, he presumed he was intoxicated, and drove on. Before he had proceeded many yards a shot was fired and a bullet passed through the hood of his car and whizzed over the traveller's head. j The traveller informed the police at Collector, and, with a constable, returned Ito the spot, where he stopped. Both entered the scrub adjoining the road. They were startled by the report of a firearm. A bullet passed through the sleeve of the constable's tunic, and a flash about 40 yarcs away. j The two then returned to Collector for additional police, and a black tracker lis being sent from Goulburn to assist in , the search. — (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
