WHANGAREI RESULTS. At Whangarei.—Seniors: Old Bovg 14. beat Hikurangi 8, after a hard game, the latter leading for the nrst quarter. This is the first time Hikurangi, who were last year's shield winners, had suffered defeat. Old Boys ow lead in the competition. George Kerr, the Hikurangi fullback was ordered off by the referee for rough play. For Old Boys tries were scored by Macke'n (2). Wilson, Waterman, and Aim converted one. For Hikurangi Arneil and Mclnnis scored, and Kerr converted. At Poroti.—Kamo 29, beat Mangakibia 3. At Whangarei.—Juniors: Hora Hora 6, drew with High School ti. For Hora Hora Procter and White scored tries. For the school D. McKay scored two tries Third Grade: V.M.C.A. 6, beat High School A :*. For V.M.C.A. Birch and Richards scored, and for the school Hew'in scored Hora Hora a, beat Old Boys 0. T_t scorers were Storey (2), and Shandley. TE AWAMUTU. There was a good attendance at Albert Park, when two senior games were played. Contrary to expectations Parawera accounted for Te Awamutu by 14 points to 8, thus being the first to lower the championship leaders' colours this season. There was uo tluke about Parawera's wiu, as they combined well and worried the Te Awamutu backs right from the start. Te Awamutu opened the scoring as the result of a try by Winter, but Campbell equalised with a try for Parawera betore half-time. There was uo further score until well into the second half, when Mizen scored and Winter converted for Te Awamutu. Parawera then took charge of the game. Hastie, Dare and Grist adding tries. Maureohooho converting one, gaining a well earned victory by 14 to 8. In the other senior match between Pirongia and United the former won by 17 to 5. after a poor game. Young (2>. Hunt and Reichenbach scored tries for Pirongia. E. Bell converted one and kicked a penalty goal. Madaern scored for United, Johnson converting. NORTHERN WAIROA.
