Air. A. J. Conway left for the North this morning. Sir Maui Pomare left for Wellington by the Limited last evening. Mr. C. J. Tunics left for Wellington by the Limited on Wednesday. Mt. J. W. Baty, J.P., who has been on a abort visit to Auckland, returned to Christchurch last evening. Mr. J. Ambrose (Wellington), and Mr. A. P. Main (London), are at the Grand Hotel. Mr. F. E. Tomlingon, New Zealand publicity photographer is visiting Auckland. Judge H. F. Ayson and Dr. E. P. Ellison (Rarotonga) are visiting Auckland. They are at the Star Hotel. Major and Mrs. A. P. Spiers (London), arrived from Wellington this morning. They are at the Grand. A Press Association telegram gaye that the Misses R. and M. Tripp, of Timarn, will be presented at Court on June 9. Dr. T. H. A. Valintine, DirectorGeneral of Health, arrived from North Auckland yesterday, and left for Wellington by the Limited last evening. i Mr. J. D. Gray, secretary for External Affairs, who returned to Auckland; yesterday by the Hinemoa, leaves by this evening's express for Wellington. Among the guests at the Central Hotel are Mr. W. H. Besley (New Plymouth), Mr. Gibb Brown (Palmerston North), Mr. P. Caley (Te Kuiti), Mr. Wilfred Johnstone (Te Kuiti), Lieut.-Colonel Andrews (Paeroa.) I Mr. V. T. Drew, genera] secretary of the Auckland V.M.C.A., and Messrs. I. Royds and C. S. Falkner, left for Wellington by the Limited on Wednesday to represent Auckland at the V.M.C.A. National Convention. Staying at the Central Hotel are Mr. W. Johnstone (Te Kuiti), Mr. P. Caley (Te Kuiti), Mr. W. Besley (New Plymouth), Mr. A. D. Keeling (New Plymouth), Mr. R, K. McGiven (New Plymouth) and Mr. T. Bates (New Plymouth.) Among the guests at the Star Hotel are Mr.. R. W. Robertson, Mr. A. L. Moore, Mr. R. J. Deare, Mr. A. M. Purcer, Mr. W. E. Holden, Mr. L. Mos3, Mr W. N. Ronnick, Mr. W. Black well (New Plymouth) and Mr. and Mrs. H. Kahn (Wellington.) Mr. John Bice, of Onehunga, who many years ago was a well-known Thames miner, and who lost the sight of both his eyes thirty years ago, celebrated his eightieth birthday yessterday. Letters of congratulation and a birthday cake were received from the directors of the Alburnia mine*. Captain J. Graham and Captain R. E. T. Moore, of London, who have been in charge of the British Court at the New Zealand and South Seas International Exhibition, are at the Grand Hotel. They leave by the Aorangi on Tuesday en route to England. Staying at the Star Hotel are Mr. and Mrs. J. Worst (Whangarei), Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Hosking (Whangarei), Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Kyde (Hamilton), Mr. J. McMahon (Palmerston North), Judge N. F. Ayson (Rarotonga). Dr. D. P. Ellison (Rarotonga), Mr. W. McGruer (Te Aroha), Mr. R. Johnston (Wellington), Mr. T. J. Hennessey (Wellington), Mr. and Mrs. A. Coxheaii (Dunedin.) Mr. Justice Herdman returned from the North yesterday. Guests at Stonetiurst include Commander M. F. Fell (London), Mr. and Mrs. A. H.
