COUNTY CRICKET MATCHES. SEVERAL GAMES ABANDONED. (Received 10 a.m.) LONDON, May 12. Essex in their first innings made 246 (Freeman 62, Russell, not out 122). Stevens took five wickets for 80 runs, and Durston five for 57. The second innings realised 185 (Freeman 60). Middlesex in the first innings made 202 (Hendren 90). Nichols took four wickets for 35). In their second innings they got 232 for six wickets (Stevens 97). Middlesex won by four wickets. Notts* first innings was 232 (George Gunn 114). Tate took five wickets for 71 runs. Second innings, 73 for one wicket. Sussex in the first innings got 195. The match was drawn. For Yorkshire against Derby Macaulay took six wickets for 34 runs. The match was drawn. For Hampshire against Warwick, Boyes took five for 53, including the hat trick.. For Warwick, Parsons made 171; the match was abandoned. For Gloucester against Lancashire Mills took five for 57. This match also was abandoned. For" Glamorgan against Leicester Ryan took five for 55. The match was abandoned. ' Rain generally interfered with the play.—(A. and N.Z.)
