THE COAL CRISIS.

NEGOTIATIONS TO-DAY. MANY GRAVE ISSUES. LONDON, April 12. The reassembling of the House of Commons to-morrow adds significance to the resumption of the coal negotiations on the same day.

If a settlement of the dispute should be reached all business will be set aside in the House, except the Budget, in order to pass the legislation necessary to carry out the recommendations of the Royal Commission.

If the efforts to bring about a settlement of the coal dispute fail and a strike is precipitated it may be necessary to recast the Budget in order to meet the situation. — (A. and N.Z.)
