Mr. and Mrs. T. Coverdale (Te Kawa, Waikato) left for their home by the Limited last evening. '

Lieut. P. A. Turner, who was injured in the recent aeroplane tragedy at Christchurch, is now recovering quickly.

Mr. G. W. Griffiths (Kenya, South Africa) is on a visit to Auckland. He is at the Grand.

Mr. W. J. Jordan, M.P. for Manukau, left on Sunday for Wanganui, where he will attend-the Labour party's annual conference.

Mr. J. Bull (Hunterville) and Mr. Andrew Guy (Palmerston North) left for the South by the Limited last evening.

Staving at the Central Hotel are Mr. R. A."Thompson, Mr. T. G. King (Melbourne). Mr. H. S. Gillies (Wanganui), Mr H. Kronford (Feilding), Mr. and Mrs. W. Martin, Mr. W. E. Calbow, Mr. A. E. Millington (Wellington)

Among the guests staying at the Star Hotel are Mr. H. Ratcliffe (Wellington), Mr. D. Maule (Wellington), Mr. C. L. Walker (Bay of Islands). Mr. A. George (Dargavillef, Mr. R. Lyttle- (Sydney).

Mr. William Wallace, chairman of the Auckland Hospital Board, left by the Limited for Wellington last evening. He will represent the New Zealand Hospitals' Association at a conference to be held to-morrow with members of the British Medical Association and the Department of Health.

Mr. Beaumont Smith, managing director Williamson Films (N.Z.), Limited, arrived from Wellington this morning. He is visiting Auckland on business connected with Williamson's new theatre, on which work has already been commenced. The new theatre will probably be called the Prince Edward.

Mr. A. Burns, chairman of the Auckland Education Board passed through Whangarei yesterday on his way to Mongonui and Hokianga in connection with primary school business. On his return he will spend some time in Whangarei, looking into local school matters. He will be accompanied by Mr. J. D. Mc-

Four Auckland visitors—Lieut.-■Colonel Robinson, Lieut.-Colonel Brittain, and Messrs. F. C. Mappin and G. B. Peacock —are in Ashburton on a deer-stalking expedition. They will shoot over country at the top of the Rakaia Gorge, where "some of the best heads in New Zealand have been obtained, and will be absent for about ten days.
