MOTOR CRASH.
LORRY AND TAXI COIXIDE
OCCUPANTS ESCAPE UXHTJRT.
Returning from a run to Papakura, a White taxi, driven by H. Graham, crashed into a motor lorry owned by J. T. Todd at the corner of Great South and Campbell Roads about 10 o'clock this morning. The driver of the taxi was slightly injured, and a passenger, who was sitting in the front seat, received minor injuries. The lorry driver and a passenger were unhurt.
The taxi was travelling at a fair pace at the time, when the lorry, which was proceeding towards Papakura, started to turn into Campbell Road. The driver of the taxi applied his brakes but the car crashed almost head on into the lorry.
One side of the bonnet was torn away, a wheel was smashed and the engine was badly damaged. A mudguard and one headlight were shattered.
The crank handle of the lorry was torn off and the radiator was damaged.
