ROGUES AND VAGABONDS. A POLICE ROUND-UP. 'By Telegraph.—Press Association.CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. A gang of four undesirables, two mci and two women, were rounded up £V the police on Wednesday at Ne v Brighton, where they had been living in a 'bach." Their, names were May Faithful alias Mary Sidon, aged 38; Elizabeth Ryan alias Gillies, aged oo; Charles Brcwn aged 56; and Arthur Gorhain, ahas Gorman, alias. Henderson, alias " cal £' 3L 1 " Smi * h ' ali <*3 Anderson, aged 42. 1-aithfu! and Brow n were sentenced to twelve months' imprisonment on "a charge of being ?dle and disorderly a.ni Ryan was sentenced to twelve months for consorting with thieves, and to three months for theft, the sentences to o<a concurrent. Gorham received twelve months for consorting, and three months for breaking a window, the sentences to he cumulative.
Another undesirable, William Thompson aged 43, who hung round railway stt.tions picking up men from the coun try and living on them, was sentenced i.j three months' bard labour.
