ECONOMY BILL

AN ALL-NIGHT SITTING. LONDON, April 2. The House of Commons rose this morning after an all-night sitting of 19 hours. The Government secured the passage of clause one in the Economy Bill, which provides for a reduction in the contributions to the National Health Insurance Fund instead of the first two clauses, which it had hoped to have passed before Easter. The Opposition contended that the clause was unjust to 15,000,000 insured persons whose chances of additional benefits would be curtailed by a reduction in the contributions.—(Reuter.)
