LAWN TENNIS.
EASTER TOURNAMENT. Bl_a_E>-HEAD AST) XORTHCOTE. GOOD rB.IDA.TS PLAT. The annual Easter handicap tennis tonrnament of the Birkenhead and Northcote Tennis Club, which was commenced yesterday, is beins continued to-day. and will conclude on Monday. The ten "courts 'twere in excellent trim, and the additional facilities provided by the new pavilion for dressin_ and catering purposes were srreatly appreciated. These enabled the ladies in charge. Mrs. X. K. Harris. Misses M. Xewraan and McKay, who were assisted by the ladies' ireneral committee, to dispense refreshments to the entire satisfaction of the visitors. Th? arrangements for the varions competitions were under the control of Messrs. H. G. Johnston (actingsecretary), W. C. Morrin. H. W. Tver. A. Taylor, E. Cavaye. and E. W. B. Herrick, and everything trotted smoothly and satisfactorily for everyone concerned. The freshness of the atmosphere save a zest for play, and with the exception of a few light showers, which only very temporarily interfered with the rames. the weather was all_ that could be desired, the sun beinsr enjoyed most of the day.
