OUR POPULATION.
GROWTH IN FIVE YEARS. INCREASE OF 142,039. Figures complied by the Government Statistician show that the population of New Zealand, including Maoris, has increased from 1,244,390 in 1920 to 1,384,439 in 1925—an increase of 142,039. These figures do not include the population of Cook and other Pacific Islands (13,583) or. Western Samoa (38,829), and they represent the mean population for twelve months. This includes 54,001 Maoris.
