TAIHAPE FARMER CHARGED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) TAIHAPE," Monday. William Martin Collins, farmer, was charged this afternoon with the manslaughter of Haere : Puru, a deaf and dumb Maori, who was found injured on the road on March 1. After lengthy evidence had been heard the magistrate committed accused to the next sittings of the Supreme Court at Wang-anui for trial, accused reserving bis defence. Bail, in two sureties of £200 each and accused in his own recognisance of £100, was allowed. The coroner's verdict at the inquest, taken in conjunction with the, case, was that deceased died as tha result of -in> juries received from a horse ridden by William Martin Collins.
