WATER POLO AGAIN.
"SHALL BE PLAYED FIRST." At the meeting of the Auckland Swimming -Centre last night, the matter of water; polo was again discussed. At the .previous meeting" Mr. A. J. Fernandez said there was a minute on the books that the game be played last, and that it had not been rescinded. Mr. -J. Enwright, on the other hand, sail Mr. Fernandez was quite wrong, and that the only motion was that moved by him that the game be played first. The acting-secretary read the minute last night, and it definitely set out that water polo be played last. It was in the name of Mr. Fernandez, the then chairman. Mr. Fernandez: Is that satisfactory? Mr. Enwright: Yes, but there is an amendment. The secretary read the amendment, which had been lost. Mr. Fernandez said that brought him to the point that the motion had not been rescinded. He added that some delegates should not have been so emphatic on the point last week. Mr. Enwright: I would like to say that I felt strongly on the point, and I was sure of it. But in face of that I can say there is a more recent minute on the books that it be played first, hut of course the first minute must stand. The speaker w-ent on to say that no one played more polo than he did, and that the minute the rule was enforced water polo would revert back to the place it held some years ago. Mr. Cowley: It is quite a simple matter to have "the motion rescinded. The matter was not carried further.
