TILDEN'S DECLINING FORM. NEW TORS, February 2S. The sports editor of the United Press says: "Another and a more convincing defeat of Tilden in the first of the French-American team matches makes it apparent that the United States are not only slipping in international prestige, but are in serious danger of losing the Davis Cup. It is not a 'front page story,' for Tilden lost the match. He has been beaten several time 9by ■Richards and once or twice by Manuel Alonzo, but there were always reasons to believe he had not had the throttle open. But when he drops two such important matches as he has in the last week there is cause to wonder. As he is playinjr now. TiMpi cannot beat anyone."—(A. and N.Z. CabTe.e)
