Two international Kugby football matches were played iu-aay. .it .Twickenham England defeated France by 11 points to v, and at Edinburgh li eland defeated Scotland by i> points to 0. There were 40.000 spectators at the Twickenham match, including .King George. The weather was dull.

Ihe Frenchmen attacked at the outset. Then the Englishmen pressed, and, from a tussle on the French line, Aslett scored a try, which was not converted.

Young was playing a great game in the scrum. He started a movement which resulted in Aslett scoring another try. This also was not converted. At half-time the scores were:—England, 0; France, 0.

On the resumption of play danger. threatened the French line for a long while, but by putting eight men in the scrum instead of the seven they had tried prior to the interval, the Frenchmen obtained possession more frequently. Their backs, however, kicked too much. 'After 20 minutes' play Kittermastcr pot across and scored. Francis converted. At the end of ]3 minutes' play Gallacher, the Scottish centre forward, kicked n poal from a cross pass from Cunningham. A little later Gallagher almost scored again, but he slipped when he was shootinj?.

Just before the interval Cunningha_n kicked a goal with a left-foot drive from a penalty.

The Scottish forwards showed good combination and were lively in attack. Gallacher secured two more goals.
