OVERBOARD FROM LAUNCH* A QUICK RESCUE. The exceptionally squally weather froa the south west which set in yesterdaj morning was the cause of several minor accidents as well as two fatal one;, reported elsewhere. The yachts whjci took part in the Victoria Club's race te Surfdale, sheltered in Putiki Bay on Saturday night, and they all had a very severe buffeting on the long beat home yesterday. Coming up from Beachl3nds about 6 o'clock last evening just when an extra heavy squall was passing near Flat Island, and after opening out the big bay from Turanga, Mr. \V. A. Wilkinson's launch. Maroro. caught an extra big sea, which threw the anchor and Kne overboard. The end was made fast, but his brother, Mr. A. H. Wilkinson, went forward to secure it. The weight of the anchor and line took him overboard in the big jump. Mr. W. A. Wilkinson, who was alone, promptly turned the launch round, making a short, circle towards his brother to throw the stert and propel Tor clear of him. and roundel her to alongside the man in the water, who was pulled aboard none the worse for the mishap. The whole incident dia i not exceed one minute.
