CUSTOMS DUTIES INCREASE. (Received 10 a.m.) PARIS, January 29. The Government has prepared a bill increasing the Customs dues approximately 30 per cent. It is expected that the yield will be 400.000,000 francs. The Chamber during the past few days has been busy with matters of procedure, i but ■ simultaneously negotiations are going on behind the scenes to secure some agreement on fiscal matters in preparation for getting to grips with the prob'.ems as early as possible.— (Reuter.)
