CHARM OF WAIHI BEACH,, PETITION FOR A SCHOOL. • (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAIHI, Una day. A largely signer! petition to tlio Miiiiatprof Education urging the erection of a school building on a site provided by the borough council at Waihi beach, was handed to Mr. A. M, Samuel, M.P. for Ohinemuri, by the Mayor (Air. Wallnutt). at a meeting held on the beach yesterday. Mr. Samuel, in replying, said that Waihi Beach promised to become the Brighton of Xew Zealand. There was no beach to equal it in the Dominion for surf bathing-, and the general surroundings were delightful.
