A MODERN EXODUS.
RATANA MAY MOVE. PROPOSED FARM SCHEME. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star. , "! WANGANUI, this day. It is not the first time in. the worM'a history that new religions have been obliged to seek pastures new. A reporter was informed to-day that some of the Ratana executive aro seriously considering the removal of the headquarters of the Ratana Church to Te Kulti. One Maori said the natives had been pinpricked by local bodies and the health authorities in regard to sanitation at Ratana, and they resent this as interference. Should the headquarters of the church be removed, doubtless this would mean that the large number of Maoris now living at Ratana would also go to Te Kuiti. ""This, in turn, would be a big loss to business people of Wanganui. It is also mentioned in connection witn the removal proposal that a big farming scheme is being discussed, whereby young Maoris would be trained in farming pursuits, and Jie products from tho farm be used or sold for the benefit of the new Maori community.
