BURST INTO FLAMES.
VALUABLE BUS DESTROYED. WHILE AT BLOCKHOUSE BAY. A practically new 22-seater motor bus, owned by Mr. (!. 11. Boler, of Mountain Road, Mt. Albert, one of the four enij ployed by the Premier Bus Company on , the City and New Lynn and Blockhouse Bay service, was destroyed by fire at Blockhouse Bay Beach shortly after 3 \ o'clock yesterday afternoon. j When the bus was stationery at the : end of its run, with the engine running, j it suddenly burst into flames. The driver, , Mr. George Wyatt, and a child, the only other occupant, escaped without injury. Although summoned to the scene of the ■ j outbreak, the Avondale Fire Brigade was too late to be of service. j The bus, which had only been on the road a few months, was valued at £SOO. It was covered by insurance.
