SUPPRESSION OF NAMES.
(To ike Editor.) Sir.—Two recent correspondents to the ".Star" are making a kind of burlesque out of this "new find" as administered in our law Courts. May I suggest, in addition, that a certificate of merit be awarded in eases of men taking their lives into their hands when housebreaking and the like. But no. let us be serious; this is r.o joking mater. Suppression of publicity is, I consider, . a crime against decent society, and re- ' presents a direct invitation to wrong- i doing. Again, a cruel injustice is inflicted j on every employee in a big establish- , ment where a theft is committed, and < the person is jiot named. Briefly, it , conies to this: A boy or girl wants ■ something for nothing. I shall tak.- , the risk, they say. Even if I am found , out there is no publicity. We even have , two men. detaining a married woman , out in a shelter, and plying her with , wine. Names suppressed again. Do we , possess no self-respect at all ?—I am. etc.. '. ARTHUR CUM.UINGS.
