" TIME TO SFARE.'J. WASHINGTON, January 8; It is seldom that a man offers to pro to gaol in place of another; and probably never before has such a volunteer been a millionaire. But Chase Oshorn, LL.D., who was Governor of Michigan in 1911-1912, has asked Mr. Coolidge's permission to serve a sentence in place of ex-Governor MeCray, of Indiana. Governor MeCray •was convicted on a charge of embezzlement. ■Chase Oeborn is a journalist, and has owned several newspapers in Michigan. He is a distinguished entomologist as well, nnd discovered the source of the firefly's light. He is a multi-millionaire, and says he has no wife or dependents, and plenty of time to spare.
