WHAT WOMEN WEAR.
DINNER JACKETS IN PARIS. ANOTHER FREAK OF FASHION. AND "CHEAP" AT £20. (By Cable.—rress Association.—Copyright ) (Received 11.30 a.m.) PARIS, January 18. The latest freak of fashion demands that women shall wear dinner jackets with velvet collars on informal occasions. The cut of the new garment is identical with that of the man's dinner jacket, but has wider lapels, one button and a small breast pocket for a handkerchief. The vest also is of black velvet with throe buttons. The skirt is of cheviot, traced with a narrow border of velvet laeo frill, with black bow. This is used instead of a collar. The reason advanced for the radical change in the custom is that it solves the problem of the high cost of evening wear, though the lowest price quoted for the new style is £20.—(A. and X.Z.)
