FURTER DECLINE IN WOOL.
AT THE NAPIER SALE. NO STABILITY IN MARKET. NAPIER, Monday. Prices further declined at the opening of the second Napier wool sale to-night, when 10,000 bales out of a catalogue of- 24,842 were submitted. The' wool was not up to the standard of the November sale, not being as bright in condition, and showing grease. Bidding was at times erratic, and at no period of the sale did it-appear as if there was any stability in tbe market. It was noticeable that Bradford buyers were more in evidence, the drop in the market apparently being more in keeping with their limits. However, the Continent took the bulk of the offering. Little wool suitable for America was offered, and what there was showed a decided drop in value. Compared with the opening sale super wools dropped from 2Jd to 3d per lb; average crossbred wools were down 2d; inferior crossbreds 3d; crutchings 3Jd. Bates for pieces and bellies were on a par to id down. Prices for lambs' wool were up to expectation. The decline' in value represents at least Id below the Christchurch sale. The balance of the catalogue will be offered to-morrow. TO-DAY'S TRANSACTIONS. BETTER BRADFORD BUYING. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) , NAPIER, this day. The wool sale was resumed this morning, when Bradford buyers came into the market much more freely than was the case last night, and at times entered into spirited competition with Continental. American buyers appeared indifferent, taking only extra choice lots. Crutchings are still at par with the last Napier sale, and ruled up to an average of 9sd to 10Jd. The decline principally involves finer wools,-and 46's-to 50's dropped from 2d to 3d" compared with the last sale. Prices of stronger wools, 36's to 44's, pshowed the least drop, declining from Id to Id per lb. Pieces and bellies were again back about 2d on the average, but lambs' wool and good quality Romney went as far as 16d.
