CRICKET.
STARTING THE SEASON. THE DRAW FOE. SATURDAY. At the weekly meeting of the A.C.A. Executive last night, Mr. E. E. Nalder jresiding, the arrangements for the Shield matches were discussed, md it was decided to ask Wellington to •elieve Auckland of their undertaking to )lay the Wellington niateh at New Year, so 'that that date may be available for he Otago team at Auckland. This action vas taken so that Otago, the side which ias the most travelling, might not be ;mbarrassed in fixing their dates, and it s believed that Otago desires to play it Christchurch at Christmas, and at Auckland at New Year. This leaves the Auckland-Wellington match yet to he irranged. Entries for the season's competitions ivere received from 26 clubs, representing 53 teams, and those having reference to the junior teams were passed over ,to the Junior Advisory Committee, to Jbe dealt with this evening. The senior J teams nominated were the same as last I year, and the draw for Saturday was made as follows: — University v. Ponsonby, King's College No. 1, Messrs. Duff and Johnson; ! North Shore v. Grafton, North ■Shore, Messrs. Goldsworthy and Frater; Parnell v. Eden, King's College No. 5, Messrs. Levien and Turton.
