INTERPRETATION OF A HYMN.
"\ ote as a Christian should vote" was the advice tendered to his congregation m St Andrew's Presbyterian Church b y the Rev. J. Lamb Harvey on Sunday evening, when the service was to some «*f nd P«- e J«ctoraL It was probably a little difhcult to select hymns appropnatee to the occasion, but there hre in the Pi-esbyterian hymanal some under the heading "Temptation and Conflict." One of these was announced—but with an explanation. "Some of you," said the preacher, "may - object to singing one line of this hymn, 'First no leaders in the fight,' but I think the intention of the author is quite clear—that you are to trust no leader blindly. I think we may safely sing it. And they did The verse reads as follows:— "Perish policy and cunning, Perish all that fears the light Whether losing, whether winnin" Trust ln God, and do the right "' Trust no party, sect, or faction Trust no leaders in the fight ' But In every word and action' Trust in God and do the right"
