THE KAIPARA CONTEST.

LABOUR .CANDIDATE'S PROGRESS. (By Telegrapn.—Own Correspondent.) DARGAVILLE, this day. Mr. W. E. Barnard, Labour candidnte for Kaipara, continuing his campaign, has addressed meetings at Mamaranui, Kaihu, Donnelly's Crossing and Aranga. At the first three places he spoke along the lines of his Dargaville addresses, and held the close attention of his audiences to the end. The gathering at Donnelly's Crossing was a representative one, and genial and hearty appreciation was expressed at the Labour candidate's clear exposition of Labour's programme, and of the 'failings of Reform. At Aranga he addressed a meeting of 50, mostly gumdiggers, and was warmly received. At the conclusion of the meeting three hearty cheers were given for the New Zealand* Labour Party.
