PONSONBY ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL CLUB.

» .. * — -—— PRESENTATION OP TROPHIES. The annual smoke concert of the Tonsonby Ciub was held on Saturday evening, Mr. .T. F. \V. Dickson presiding. Over 120 members and friends were present, also officials from the Aucklaud Referees' Association. The chairman referred to the record of the club duriug the past season, and hoped that as ope of the oldest established clubs thoy would surpass that during t>c next season. In addition to recounting their success as North Island finalists iv the Chatham Cup, finalists for the fourth year in succession in the Fajcon Cup nnd beating twice the year's champion team, he referred to the successes of the junior grades, the second grade having won the Dacre Cup and the fourth grade the Telford Cup. Mr. Dickson also gave a brief and interesting account of his recent trip to Europe. In the absence of officials from the Auckland Football Association, Mr. J. Ji. Downle, a late member of the Management (Committee, was asked to reply to that toast. He spoke in humorous vein, congratulating the club on their successes, and stating that Ponsonby had, during his term of office, always worked most harmoniously with the local governing body, and considered that they had dono much to advance the code by playing junto? players in the most impprtant fixtures. Messrs. F. G. Fullbrook (Northcote) spoke for kindred clubs .and Mr. T. G. .Wilkes on behalf of the* Referees' Association brietiy referred to the exemplary conduct of all the club r s players" 'bii the field. A splendid jnusjcal progfjimnje was glveij, Messrs.
