CONENTION OF SURGEONS.
BIG MEETING IN U.S.A. - * NEW YORK, October 30. Over 33,000 persons are practising some form of surgery in the United States and Canada, said Dr. Franklin H. Mar tin, director of the American College of Surgeons, at the Philadelphia convention of the college yesterday.. Dr. Martin attacked the evil of feesplitting between members of the medical profession. Dr. Walter F. Chipman, of Montreal, was elected president of the college for 1926, and Dr." Clarence Starr, of Toronto, as vice-president. Dr. Charles F. Nassau, of Philadelphia, was appointed secretary. At the grand .convocation night on Friday, fellowships in the American j College of Surgeons, in absentia, will be awarded to the following New Zealand surgeons: Dr. James Renfrew White, Dunedin; Dr. David Storer Wylie, Palmerston North- and Dr. William Young, Wellington.—(A. and N.Z.
