SPLIT IN REFORM VOTE

Political feeling is running very high throughout the Bay of Islands electorate. Counter demonstrations between ■ the Country party and Reform are most frequent and bitter. The latest attempt at reconciliation proved abortive and Las caused a serious split in Reform ranks. Other candidates are receiving a fair hearing, especially Mr. Hornblow, who has nailed his colours to the mast supporting Sir Joseph Ward, whose name is loudly applauded whenever mentioned. Mr. Hornblow had a . great meeting here last night. MR. BELL'S CAMPAIGN. He had a splendid reception despite the forces of the Country party, who had assembled to oppose him.
