QUEENSLAND POLITICS.
(Received 12 noon.) BRISBANE, this day. The no-confidence motion, notice of which was given by the Opposition, has been shelved by the Government. When the business paper was received in the Assembly, the motion was found at the bottom of the general business following the Government business, and as under sessional orders it was recently agreed that Government business should take precedence for the remainder of the session, it is unlikely that the motion will be discussed. Mr. Moore, in the Assembly, condemned this action, stating that juet as the rights of the people had been sacrificed and trampled upon, so had the rights minority in Parliament been subjected to ill-treatment. The Assembly read a first time a bill abolishing the Arbitration Court and establishing instead a Board of Trade and Arbitration, consisting of a Judge of the Supreme Court, as the President, and two other 'members. The Board will have administrative functions and be empowered to investigate any matter pertaining to industrial subjects.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
