KEEN ELECTION FIGHT.

STRAIGHT-OUT CONTESTS. (Received 2.30 p.m.) SYDXEY, this day. The keenness of the election fight is revealed by the lack of unopposed seats. Several candidates who signified they would stand as independents withdrew their nominations, simplifying the fight. (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
